The 1st EAI International Conference on Multimedia Technology and Enhanced Learning

ICMTEL 2016

AUGUST 13–15, 2016

INNER MONGOLIA, PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Some new technology such as Multimedia and Internet of Things has brought opportunities for Technology Enhanced Learning. Multimedia is an important intelligence function in learning technology which range from Smart School, Smart Class to Smart Learning at Home and so on. Accordingly, the assessment and evaluation methods need to be developed and involved into the interactive designing process. These new technologies made it is possible to use the multimedia technology replace the traditional teaching method. With the development of Internet of Things, Technology Enhanced Learning application pays greater attention to the interconnection between multi-modal interactive technologies and information systems to the maximum extent possible. Based on these new technologies, the network of different scales from the global to local, has a profound impact on learning and teaching. It enables new forms of cooperation and the reality of personalized learning experience. Then, it can be seen that further efficient management and deeper analysis of Technology Enhanced Learning are the key tasks in developing Smart School or individual learning application at home based gadget on multimedia technologies.

Moving Target Tracking with Physical Feature

Shuai Liu, IMU

Abstract. Recently, since computer vision becomes an important research domain, multimedia understanding and visual tracking of moving target are highlights today. Here, we discuss a novel tracking method for moving target with physical features. Physical features are considered to have strong robustness in real application and a novel visual tracking method is presented with these physical features. This method transforms these physical features and applies them into real tracking method. Experiments show effectiveness and robustness of this novel method.

Efficient Algorithms for Integer Least Squares Problems

Jinming Wen, CNRS

Abstract. Integer least squares (ILS) problems arise from many applications including communications, cryptograph, global positioning systems. One of the commonly used algorithms for solving an ILS problem is sphere decoding which usually consists of two phases: reduction and search. The goal of the reduction is to make the search process more efficient. In this talk, first we introduce some typical algorithms for solving ordinary ILS problems. Then we present some algorithms for solving box-constrained ILS problems which have applications in communications. New effective and efficient reduction algorithms and search algorithms will be presented. Numerical simulation results will be given to show our algorithms can be much faster than existing ones.
