ITD Workshop

International Workshop on Intelligent Technology and Design for Special Education/ Rehabilitation (ITD 2020)

Chairs of the Workshop: A/Pro. Xianwei Jiang, Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, China
Pro. Zuojin Hu, Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, China
Dr. Juxiao Zhang, Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, China

The development and advancement of intelligent technology has improved the well-being of human life, learning and work. Compared to normal and healthy people, special populations and those in need of rehabilitation need more support and help. Thus, the intelligent technology and design may provide benefits for them. For instance, sign language recognition system (SLRS) can smooth the gaps between deaf and healthy people, Blind Maps Guide can help blind travel without barriers, intelligent early diagnosis can detect and aid in the diagnosis of autism. Moreover, applying deep learning, Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality, BigData Mining etc. are also significant for people in disease or rehabilitation. Again, more new intelligent technologies and new methods are waiting to be demonstrated and designed.

The purpose of ITD 2020 is to supply a forum which can present and discuss intelligent techniques, methods and applications on all aspects of design and simulation in field of special education and rehabilitation.

The accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of ICMTEL 2020 – 2nd EAI International Conference on Multimedia Technology and Enhanced Learning, Springer’s Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

– Sign language recognition system (SLRS) – Travel barrier-free guide design for blind
– Braille conversion using deep learning – Face micro-expression recognition
– Intelligent early diagnosis for autism – Deep learning for image retrieval
– Intelligent User Interface – Image Analysis based on Computer Vision
– Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality and Human-Computer Interaction – Intelligent rehabilitation for Visual, Hearing and Physical Impairments
– Intelligent health management – Intelligent Computing Platform Based Big Data Mining
– Social Computing and Social Media – Integrated optimization algorithm for feature extraction/ classification
– Advanced intelligent algorithms and models in special education/ rehabilitation

As in previous years, the conference intends to attract research community from around the world. Each submission will be reviewed by at least three independent experts.

Important dates

Submission deadline: 31 October 2019

Authors’ notification: 9 December 2019

Camera-ready deadline: 20 January 2020

Publication

All registered papers will be published together with ICMTEL Proceedings by Springer and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library.

Out of the accepted papers selected papers will be invited for a publication in special issue of

ICMTEL proceedings are subjected for indexing in leading indexing services, including Ei Compendex, ISI Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, Google Scholar, DBLP, as well as EAI’s own EU Digital Library (EUDL).

Paper submission

Papers should be submitted through EAI ConfyPlus system, and have to comply with the Springer format (see Author’s kit section). Papers should be in English with length of 3-6 pages.

Submitted papers must not substantially overlap with papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation.

Paper review will be double-blind in order to avoid bias. Previously published work may not be submitted, nor may the work be concurrently submitted to any other conference or journal. Such papers will be rejected without review. The paper must start with a title, an abstract, and keywords.

Submission of a paper should be regarded as a commitment that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and attend the conference to present the work.
